Vampire Weekendが2曲入りEP『42:42』を本日2月5日（金）にリリースした。
本作には2019年発表の4thアルバム『Father of the Bride』に収録されていた短尺曲「2021」のGoose、Sam Gendelによる長尺リミックス／カバーを収録。収録時間はタイトル通り42分42秒となっている。
フューチャリスティックなジャズ・サウンドを得意とする作曲家／プロデューサーのSam Gendelは『Father of the Bride』において、「Spring Snow」、「Flower Moon (feat. Steve Lacy)」にも参加している。また、米コネチカットの5人組・GooseはVampire WeekendのEzra Koenigのラジオ『Time Crisis』で取り上げられたことでも注目を集めた。
2組によるリミックス／カバーはそれぞれアニメーションMV、セッション映像としても公開されている。
