2010年2月26日に36歳の若さで天国へ旅立った、稀代の天才プロデューサー・Nujabes（ヌジャベス）。 ヒップホップを軸にジャズやソウル、ハウスなどを取り込み、ジャンルを越境した唯一無 二のサウンドが今も世界中で評価されている彼の8周忌を追悼するイベントが、2月24日 （土）に表参道VENTで開催される。
公演当日は、Nujabesに縁の深い海外アーティストのPase Rock、Substantial、 Marcus Dが登場するほか、彼のレーベル〈Hydeout Productions〉の黄金期を支えたDJ Ryow a.k.a. Smooth CurrentやDJ Chika a.k.a. Inheritら国内DJたちも一同に集結して、 Nujabesの楽曲またはNujabesに捧げる関連楽曲のみをプレイする。
現代の音楽業界の流れとは裏腹に一切の宣伝活動を行わず、純粋に音＝作品のリリースのみで全世界のリスナーから絶大な支持を得たNujabes。国境も世代も超えて、今なお賛辞の声がやまない彼の作品や関連曲をたっぷりと堪能できる一夜となりそうだ。
なお、翌日の25日（日）には大阪CIRCUSにて大阪公演“A Tribute to Nujabes in Osaka”も開催される。こちらには同じくPase Rock、Substantial、Marcus D、DJ Ryow a.k.a. Smooth Currentらに加え、Funky DLとのコラボでも知られるCM Smoothも出演することに。
