福岡の若きサウンド・クリエイター・西村匠によるソロ・ユニット、the perfect meが初のオフィシャル・スタジオ・ライブ映像「the perfect me Studio Live 2020」を公開した。
2013年からライブを主体として活動をスタートさせたthe perfect me。Deerhoof福岡公演の前座に抜擢されるほか、地元アーティストのレコーディング・エンジニアとしてもその手腕を発揮。エンジニアとしては同郷のSTEPHENSMITH 、おとぎ話、WHITE LIE、Okayukaらの作品も手がけている。8月にリリースした2ndアルバム『Thus spoke gentle machine』から、Franz K EndoのアニメーションによるMV「Thus spoke gentle machine」の公開も記憶に新しい。
ライブ映像「the perfect me Studio Live 2020」には、アルバム『Thus spoke gentle machine』にも収録されている6曲の演奏を収録。アルバムのレコーディングにも参加しているサポート・メンバーを含む4名での編成で、the perfect meの繊細なサウンド・スケープをライブ・パフォーマンスで再構築している。
収録は、福岡県田川市にある小学校の廃校を改造した音楽施設「いいかねPalette」にて実施。演奏者の息遣いが聴こえてくるような臨場感の溢れるライブ映像となっている。
